DISCLAIMER:

We have done our best to vet these products, however we recommend doing your own research, as companies can change ingredients, manufacturing methods and materials can change, and companies can provide inaccurate information in product listings.  While we have a very strict vetting process, we are still just humans and make errors. New information becomes available, we learn new things, and our guide is constantly evolving. If you believe that an item is included here in error, please contact us.

⚠️Some products are in plastic packaging or have plastic accessories. Since plastic is not fully avoidable, we try to ensure the plastic is BPA free to offer the best, affordable option possible.

* Some products contain essential oils or herbs that may not be appropriate for children or infants. We also encourage you to do your own research about what products are age appropriate for your children or members of your family.

* We cannot vet every product for heavy metals or contaminants as the data is not publicly available and we cannot afford testing for the hundreds of products posted here. Heavy metals and other contaminants like PFAS are inherently present in everything we’re exposed to. It’s not possible to avoid 100% of toxins – but we can reduce them and live a healthy lifestyle that promotes our body’s natural detoxification. For many items we do ask manufacturers for heavy metal testing and weigh this in our decision. However one cannot avoid these substances completely.

* We have provided suggestions for snacks and supplements – we can tell you that these adhere to our standards for being considered toxin-free, but we cannot tell you if they are nutritionally appropriate for any particular person.

* We are not responsible for dissatisfaction with any product purchased through our guide.

* We do not receive commissions from these purchases and none are affiliate links.

* Some items on our swap guide may bear the California Prop 65 warning. This may be for irrelevant parts of an appliance, like a cord. Other times it may be for naturally-occurring substances like acrylamide found in cooked starches, like bread. We advise you to review all pertinent disclosures and information on the respective company websites and reach out to their customer service for clarification.
